Sherman Kizart of Kizart Media Partners Appointed To Advisory Committee Broadband Expansion And Accessibility of Mississippi

Sherman Kizart, Founder and Managing Director of Kizart Media Partners has been appointed to the Advisory Committee of Broadband Expansion and Accessibility of Mississippi (BEAM).   In the coming months, Kizart and his committee members will work with BEAM to develop the Mississippi Digital Skills and Accessibility Plan.  On August 18th they had their first meeting in Jackson, Mississippi.  

Mississippi has received over $1 billion in federal funds to provide Broadband services, including high speed broadband service, for its underserved citizens. At the August 18th meeting, Sally Doty, Executive Director of the Broadband Expansion Authority of Mississippi, met with Kizart and other committee members.  Andy Berke, Special Representative for Broadband from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) was the special guest at the kick-off luncheon and offered words of wisdom and insights on barriers to broadband access and connectivity.

Kizart states, “Providing Broadband services and related skills is so important for the citizens of Mississippi.  As a native Mississippian, serving on the Broadband Expansion and Accessibility Authority of Mississippi is an opportunity to bring high speed internet and services to underserved communities for a better future.”

Kizart is a respected expert and leader in urban sales and marketing and advises several of the leading advocacy organizations in the U.S. He is also a member of the Federal Communication Commission’s (FCC) Advisory Committee on Diversity and Digital Empowerment. His company, KMP, annually hosts the Power of Urban Radio Forum in partnership with the National Association of Black Owned Broadcasters in Washington, D.C. Before founding Kizart Media Partners, he was Senior Vice President and Director of Urban Sales at Interep.
